Journal Review Process

Manuscript Review and Evaluation Process for Publication in the Journal of Innovations in Business Management and Accounting
Responsibilities are assigned to five parties: Authors, the Editor-in-Chief, Section Editors, Reviewers, and the Editorial Office. The process is outlined below.
1. Manuscript Submission and Initial Screening
- Step 1: Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system, together with all supporting documents required by the journal.
- Step 2: Scope and Plagiarism Check
The Editor-in-Chief checks whether the manuscript aligns with the journal’s aims and scope, screens for textual similarity, and conducts an initial check of its accuracy.
- Step 3: Format Check
The Editorial Office checks manuscript formatting, the completeness of required components, citations and references, and supporting submission documents. This step takes 3 days.
- Step 4: Preliminary Evaluation and Initial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief evaluates the manuscript’s quality and suitability within 4 days and makes an initial decision within approximately 2 days. There are two possible outcomes:
1) Pass initial screening: The manuscript proceeds to peer review.
2) Reject: Authors are notified of the decision and the reasons for rejection, and the review process is concluded.
2. Manuscript Preparation and Reviewer Selection
- Step 5: Manuscript Preparation
The Section Editor prepares manuscripts that have passed initial screening for peer review. This step takes 3 days.
- Step 6: Reviewer Selection
The Section Editor selects at least three reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area. The journal uses double-blind peer review, in which authors and reviewers remain anonymous to one another. Reviewer selection takes 5 days.
3. Peer Review Process
- Step 7: Peer Review
Reviewers assess the manuscript’s academic accuracy, the appropriateness of its research methodology, the credibility of its findings, the discussion of results, the completeness of its content, and its scholarly contribution. This step takes 28 days.
- Step 8: Recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief
Once all reviewer reports have been received, the Section Editor compiles the assessments and recommendations and submits them to the Editor-in-Chief for a decision. This step takes 2 days.
- Step 9: Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief considers the reviewers’ assessments and recommendations and makes a decision within approximately 3 days. The possible decisions are:
1) Reject: The manuscript is declined for publication, and authors are notified.
2) Revision: Authors are requested to revise the manuscript in accordance with the reviewers’ recommendations.
3) Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication once it meets the evaluation criteria and all journal requirements.
4. Manuscript Revision and Subsequent Review
- Step 10: Revision Request
If revisions are required, the Section Editor forwards the reviewers’ comments to the authors within 5 days. Authors must address the reviewers’ recommendations and return the revised manuscript to the journal within approximately 14 days.
- Step 11: Revised Manuscript Check
The Section Editor checks whether the revisions adequately address the reviewers’ recommendations. This step takes 5 days. Following this check, the manuscript may proceed through either of two routes:
1) Editorial consideration: The Section Editor submits the revision assessment to the Editor-in-Chief for a decision.
2) Next review round: If further assessment is necessary, the Section Editor sends the revised manuscript to the reviewers for another round of review.
The Editor-in-Chief considers the final assessment, issues a decision to accept or reject the manuscript, and notifies the authors.
5. Final Checks and Publication Confirmation
- Step 12: Format Check
The Editorial Office checks the manuscript’s formatting and accuracy against the journal’s requirements during the initial screening stage. This step takes 3 days.
- Step 13: Final Check and Publication Confirmation
Once the manuscript has passed peer review and has been accepted for publication, the Editorial Office conducts a final check of its accuracy and completeness and prepares the information required for publication. This step takes 11 days.
- Step 14: Acceptance Notification
Authors receive an Acceptance Letter once the Editor-in-Chief has formally approved the manuscript for publication.
