Abstract

In the digital age, information and communication technology (ICT), particularly wireless networks (Wi-Fi), has become essential infrastructure for advancing public health systems. Wi-Fi networks play a critical role in seamlessly connecting medical devices and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. IoT is central to improving healthcare efficiency across multiple dimensions, including real-time monitoring of patient vital signs through wearable devices, asset management and preventive maintenance, automated environmental control, robotic drug delivery, and telemedicine support. The integration of IoT with artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics forms a key foundation for realizing Smart Hospitals. However, the implementation of IoT in hospitals continues to face many significant challenges. Nonetheless, future developments indicate that IoT systems will become increasingly effective. By harnessing the combined capabilities of wireless networks and IoT, hospitals can evolve from traditional healthcare providers into Smart Healthcare Ecosystems which proactively enhance patient care, strengthen safety, and optimize resource management. IoT adoption represents a crucial step toward improved treatment outcomes and sustainable Smart Hospital for future.
