Abstract

Currently, Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) are widely applied in the public health systems of many leading hospitals worldwide. Although the hospital has installed Wi-Fi access points across multiple areas, network usage remains restricted exclusively to internal personnel. As a result, patients and their families in the Superior Room are unable to access the system, which adversely affects their service experience and coordination of care. Therefore, the implementation of wireless networks in the Superior Room is of great significance because it can support not only internet access for convenience but also integration with medical information systems such as electronic health records, health data communication, and medical IoT devices. Nevertheless, there are many challenges in cleanrooms: Structural limitations, construction materials that interfere with Wi-Fi signals, stringent data security requirements, and the complexity of equipment maintenance. To address these challenges, it is important to design optimal access point placement, utilize standardized devices such as Wi-Fi 6, implement virtual LANs (VLANs) to enhance security, and adopt network management system monitoring to minimize the risks associated with direct access to sterile environments. Prior studies and research suggest that deploying wireless networks in the Superior Room represents a crucial mechanism for strengthening data security standards, enhancing the quality of medical care, improving the efficiency of service delivery, and equipping healthcare institutions to face future challenges in medicine and technology.
