Abstract

This research aimed to (1) study the current conditions and problems of supply management, and (2) propose strategies for improving supply management at the Faculty of Public Health, Mahasarakham University. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, integrating both quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data were collected from 59 personnel at the Faculty of Public Health using a structured questionnaire focusing on four key aspects of supply management: Planning, procurement, maintenance, and disposal. For the qualitative data, in-depth interviews were conducted with 13 participants, including administrators, department heads, and supply officers. The statistics used to analyze the data included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The results indicated that the overall condition of supply management was at a moderate level in all four aspects. In the planning aspect, there was a lack of systematic analysis regarding actual demand and usage plans. The procurement process faced limitations in identifying real needs and delays in procurement procedures. In the maintenance aspect, the storage and record-keeping systems were found to be inefficient. Regarding disposal, there was a lack of clarity and adherence to government regulations in asset management. Key issues identified included a shortage of skilled personnel, inadequate information systems, and the absence of systematic evaluation processes. From the qualitative analysis, several development strategies were proposed, including the development of operational manuals, regular staff training, the implementation of effective information technology systems for supply management, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
