Evaluation and Follow-up of the Use of Learning Outcomes in 5 Areas of Phetchaburi Rajabhat University to Improve and Develop a New Curriculum

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the approach for improving learning outcomes of Phetchaburi Rajabhat University, and 2) to evaluate five learning outcomes at Phetchaburi Rajabhat University for curriculum improvement and development. The study utilized both qualitative and quantitative research methods. The qualitative research involved reviewing relevant documents and research; the results were then used to develop learning outcomes at Phetchaburi Rajabhat University. The model was validated by experts, and quantitative research was used to evaluate and monitor learning outcomes for curriculum improvement and development. A purposive sample of 70 participants was selected, consisting of university-level academic administrators and instructors responsible for 13 Bachelor of Education programs, with five participants per program. The data collection tool included an evaluation form for the use of learning outcomes in curriculum improvement and development of new programs in various areas, based on the CIPP Model. Statistics used for data analysis included percentages, means, and standard deviations. The results revealed that the learning outcomes (PBRU DNA) of Phetchaburi Rajabhat University comprise five domains: Knowledge, Skills, Ethics, Character, and Professional Identity. This was based on the development of the identity of Phetchaburi Rajabhat University graduates through public hearings with five types of stakeholders: administrators, faculty, current students, alumni, and graduate employers. The results showed 98.20% agreement. The learning outcomes were then used to improve and develop the Bachelor of Education program, considering contextual, input, process, and output assessments. The overall evaluation results were at a very high level (x̄ = 4.39, S.D. = 0.549).
