Development of information systems for research and laboratory management School of Dentistry, University of Phayao

This study aimed to analyses the current condition to implement new information systems for research administration and laboratory division and assessed the suitability of information systems, along with assessed the satisfaction of personnel and students of School of Dentistry, University of Phayao. About the current condition, researchers found that the division currently managed the data storage mostly in the form of documentations, resulted in the delayed processes of data storage, data retrieval, data update and data report by officers could not be done immediately as the users needed. The documentations could waste the resources and might easily occurred human errors. Researchers used the current technologies to develop the information systems in online platform and assessed the suitability of the system by 7 experts, then launched in the School of Dentistry, University of Phayao web page. After that, assessed the satisfaction of 136 personnel and students of the school with the assessment tools which were 5-level estimation questionnaires and interview response of users. The data were analyzed and reported as overall satisfaction mean and standard deviation. The result found overall suitability of the system by expert opinions were at the excellent level (µ = 4.82, s = 0.28) and the overall satisfaction by users were at the good level ( x = 4.28, S.D. = 0.04). The interview found that the information system was easy to use. The information was well organized into categories which was easy to reach and reduced time consuming from several workflows to search.
