A Management of Songklanakarin Law Journal to Thai-Journal Citation Index Tier 1

Abstract

 This research objective includes the study of an analysis of management problems in the Songklanakarin Law Journal (SLJ) and recommending management measures to pass the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre Criteria Tier 1. The research methodology is in the form of documentary research methods and in-depth interviews, the seven purposive sampling was representative of legal journals. The research tool is an in-depth interview questionnaire with an IOC between 0.50-1.00. The research found that SLJ encountered some problems and obstacles in terms of human resource management, budgeting, articles, marketing and public relations, rules, and regulations. SLJ chooses a variety of methods to solve problems and obstacles by the management: 1) human resources by increasing the number of workers and continuity of work. 2) Budgeting by coordinating with article reviewers; applying for budget support from the research fund, not to pay rewards; and determining the amount of compensation for assessing articles as different. 3) Article aspect by coordinating with experts to evaluate specialized articles; inviting experts with knowledge and experience to write articles; announcement to stop receiving new articles for a certain period; article rejection and notification of the article evaluation period. 4) Marketing and public relations by waiving article publishing fees for certain periods and considering using the method of purchasing online public relations services. 5) Rules and regulations involved; rigorous quality checking of articles; and enforcing the announcement of the Faculty of Law on the preparation of the Songklanakarin Law Journal B.E. 2564.
