Electronic Document System Usage Behavior and Acceptance Affecting the Success of Support Personnel Work at Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-Ok, Uthenthawai Campus, Bangkok, Thailand

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to study 1) the electronic document system usage behavior and the electronic document system usage acceptance, 2) the success in the work and 3) to compare work success based on the usage behavior of electronic document systems, and 4) the electronic document system usage acceptance that affects the success of the support personnel work at Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-Ok, Uthen Thawai. This research applied quantitative methodology. The population was 50 support staff providing primary source data collection and responding to the questionnaire used as a research tool. The data analysis and research hypothesis testing applied descriptive statistical and inferential statistical analysis (e.g. T-test, F-test and Multiple Regression Analysis). The results revealed that 1) the electronic document system usage behavior frequency was 10 or more times per week. The average time of using the system was 15-20 minutes per time, and the average time of using the system was 1-2 times per day. They had experience using the system for 3 or more years and most had received the usage training. 2) The electronic document system usage acceptance overall show that, the highest level is perceived ease of use. While, high levels are the perceived usefulness, and perceived convenience, respectively. 3) The success of work overall shows that, the highest level is operational process, while high levels are resource usage, satisfaction, and the system quality, respectively. 4) The behavior of using the electronic document system classified by different usage frequencies per week affected the overall work success in terms of resource usage and the work processes classified according to different periods of the system usage per day. This affected the overall work success in terms differences of in the system quality, resource usage, the work process, and satisfaction. 5) The electronic document system usage acceptance regarding perceived usefulness has a positive effect on the success of work, system quality, resource usage, work process, and satisfaction. While, electronic document system acceptance in terms of the perception of the facility convenience and the ease of system usage positively affected on the success of system quality work. Thus, the organization should encourage to recognize the importance of the application of information systems. Includes, the achieving continuous success in work focusing on technology acceptance factors such as perceived ease and convenience of the system usage to promote success in the work of personnel to cover all aspects.
