Abstract

This quantitative study investigates the factors influencing success in digital transformation, focusing on a case study of a cement, and building materials business in Thailand. Specifically targeting employees of a distribution and retail business unit within the company, a sample of 406 employees was randomly selected using the stratified sampling method. Data collection employed online questionnaires featuring closed-ended questions, subjected to testing for content validity and reliability. The content validity (IOC) yielded a result of 0.9153, and questionnaire reliability, assessed through Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, resulted in score of 0.962. Data analysis was performed by exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to identify the structure and reveal the underlying structure of variables. The findings reveal six key factors and eight components driving digital transformation success within the studied business, including: (1) Employee Characteristics with two components-Performance Expectancy and Digital Literacy; (2) Technological Characteristic with one component-Technology Characteristics; (3) Organizational Characteristics with one component - Organizational Characteristics; (4) Market Force with one component - Market Force; (5) Perceived Usefulness with two components - Work efficiency, and Customer Satisfaction Enhancement; and (6) Perceived Ease of Use with two components - Availability and Perceived Ease of Use These findings provide insights for organizations aiming to enhance their digital transformation efforts and adapt to the evolving digital landscape.
