Ethics and Disclosures

I-JBER is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Research Involving Human Participants

Research involving human participants must have been approved by an appropriate institutional research ethics committee and conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki or comparable standards. The manuscript must include a statement giving the name of the approving committee and the approval number and date. Where approval was not required, authors must explain why.

Informed Consent

Informed consent must be obtained from all participants. For participants under the age of 18, consent must be obtained from a parent or legal guardian. Identifying information must not be published unless written consent for publication has been obtained.

Competing Interests

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that are directly or indirectly related to the submitted work. If there are none, authors should state: "The authors have no competing interests to declare that are relevant to the content of this article." Reviewers and editors must declare any conflict of interest and decline to handle manuscripts where such a conflict exists.

Funding

All sources of funding for the research must be acknowledged, including grant numbers where applicable. If the work received no funding, authors should state: "No funding was received for conducting this study."

Data Availability

Authors are encouraged to include a data availability statement describing where the data supporting the findings can be accessed, or why the data cannot be shared.

Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

All submissions are screened for similarity with CopyCatch (ThaiJO). Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication or falsification, and citation manipulation are considered serious misconduct and will be handled in accordance with COPE flowcharts.

Duties of Authors, Reviewers, and Editors

  • Authors must submit original work, cite sources accurately, and report findings honestly.
  • Reviewers must keep manuscripts confidential, give objective and constructive feedback, and respond within the agreed time.
  • Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit, without regard to the authors' race, gender, religion, nationality, or institutional affiliation, and must keep the review process confidential.
