Desirable Characteristics of Local Politicians According to the Attitudes of the people in area of Huai Thalang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Abstract

The research purposes were (1) to study the levels of desirable characteristics of local politicians according to the attitudes of the people in area of Huai Thalang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province; and (2) to compare the desirable characteristics of local politicians according to the attitudes of the people in area of Huai Thalang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. This was the quantitative research. The population was the 82,706 people with voting rights lived in area of Huai Thalang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province; the sample group was the 398 people. The research instrument was the questionnaire. The data analysis statistics were the frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test (Independent samples), one-way Analysis of variance, and method of Scheffe.

The research findings were:

1. The desirable characteristics of local politicians according to the attitudes of the people in area of Huai Thalang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province found the overall was at high level; the descending mean were the aspect of intelligence and vision, the aspect of knowledge and ability, the aspect of human relationship, the aspect of morality and ethics, and the aspect of mental and emotional aspects, respectively.
2. The desirable characteristics of local politicians according to the attitudes of the people in area of Huai Thalang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province when people with different gender, education levels, and occupations had the attitudes on the desirable characteristics of local politicians did not different.
