The Impact of Labor Protection Laws on Workers’ Quality of Life in Thailand

Abstract

Labor protection laws play a crucial role in setting standards and ensuring workers' rights in Thailand, aiming to create fairness and improve their quality of life. However, the implementation of such laws may have both positive and negative effects on employees and employers. This study examines the impact of labor protection laws on various aspects of workers' quality of life, including income, welfare, job security, and job satisfaction, using both qualitative and quantitative research methods. The findings indicate that labor protection laws contribute to better wages, improved welfare, and greater job security for workers. However, challenges remain, such as non-compliance by certain employers and workers’ limited access to their rights. The results of this study provide insights for policymakers and relevant stakeholders to enhance labor protection policies and measures, ultimately improving workers' quality of life in Thailand.
