A Study On The Internet Usage Behavior Of Students In School Suanpa Uppatham School, Chachoengsao

This research aimed to: 1) study internet usage behavior in school among students at Suan Pa Upatham School, Chachoengsao Province; 2) compare internet usage behavior based on gender, religion, grade, and devices used for internet access; and 3) study the relationship between internet usage behavior and age and GPA. The population consisted of 169 students, with a sample of 136 selected using Taro Yamane’s formula. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient.
The findings were: 1) Students’ internet usage behavior in school was highest in the entertainment category (mean = 3.00, SD = 0.74) and lowest in the communication category, with an overall mean of 2.90 (SD = 0.88). 2) There were statistically significant differences in internet usage behavior in the entertainment category among students in different grades at the 0.01 level and among students using different devices at the 0.001 level. 3) Age and GPA showed no statistically significant relationship with internet usage behavior across study, communication, entertainment, and overall categories.
In conclusion, students primarily used the internet for entertainment, and their behavior varied based on grade level and devices used. However, age and GPA had no significant impact on their internet usage behavior.
