This research focuses on helping first-year high school students improve their ability to read English texts aloud using story videos. It compares the reading skills of students at Assumption Convent School, Lamnarai, before and after the instruction. The study involved 22 first-year students and took place during the first semester of the 2023 academic year, from May 16, 2023, to September 30, 2023. Researchers used three lesson plans, each graded out of 10 points, along with a pre-test and post-test that contained 30 questions, worth 30 points in total. The results showed that the average score improvement among the 22 students was 15.72, with a relative development score of 72.25. One student improved by 100%, while the lowest improvement was 48.00%. The post-test scores were significantly higher than the pre-test scores, with a statistical significance level of .001. Five experts evaluated the effectiveness of the E1/E2 lesson plans for improving students' reading skills using story videos. The average score across all three lesson plans was 4.83 with a standard deviation of 0.37. The highest scores were for: 1) accuracy of the plan's content,
2) promoting students' potential, 3) clear evaluation criteria, 4) thorough coverage of knowledge and skills, and 5) appropriate measurement methods, all averaging 5.00. The lowest score was for the relevance and modernity of the content, with an average of 4.60.
