Peer Review Policy
i-ME uses double-blind peer review: reviewers do not know the authors' identities, and authors do not know the reviewers' identities.
Review Stages
- Initial screening (about 2 weeks). The editor checks scope, format, completeness and similarity (CopyCatch/ThaiJo). Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% (excluding references), or outside the aims and scope, are returned without review.
- Peer review (about 4–8 weeks). Each manuscript is sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the field. At least one reviewer is from an institution other than the author's. A third reviewer may be invited when reports disagree.
- Decision. Reviewers recommend Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision or Decline. The handling editor makes the decision based on the reports and informs the author through the system.
- Revision (normally 30 days). Authors revise and submit a response letter explaining each change. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the reviewers.
- Acceptance and production. Accepted manuscripts are copyedited, typeset and proofread by the authors before publication.
The typical time from submission to first decision is 8–12 weeks.
Editorial Independence
Manuscripts submitted by the editor or editorial board members are handled entirely by another editor and reviewed under the same double-blind procedure. The submitting editor has no access to the review records.
Reviewer Responsibilities
- Keep manuscripts and reports confidential.
- Declare any conflict of interest and decline when one exists or when the topic is outside their expertise.
- Give objective, constructive and evidence-based comments within the agreed time.
- Report suspected plagiarism, data fabrication or other misconduct to the editor.
- Do not upload manuscripts to public generative AI tools.
