Insights into Modern Education (i-ME)

Insights into Modern Education (i-ME) is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Khon Kaen Campus, Thailand. It has been published continuously since 2023.

Aims and Scope

i-ME publishes original research on teaching, learning and educational policy that speaks to an international readership, with particular strength in Southeast and East Asian contexts. We welcome empirical, comparative and theoretically grounded studies in:

  • teaching and teacher education
  • higher education
  • adult, vocational and lifelong learning
  • assessment and evaluation
  • educational leadership and administration
  • educational technology
  • language and linguistics education
  • science education
  • social studies and values education
  • counseling and student services

Article Types

  1. Research articles (5,000–8,000 words): original empirical studies.
  2. Review articles (6,000–9,000 words): systematic, scoping or critical reviews of the literature.
  3. Book reviews (1,500–3,000 words): critical evaluations of recent scholarly books in education.

Publication Frequency

Three issues per year: No. 1 (January–April), No. 2 (May–August) and No. 3 (September–December). Each issue is published on the last day of its period. Accepted articles may appear online first.

Peer Review

Every manuscript is screened by the editor and then reviewed double-blind by at least two independent experts. See the Peer Review Process page.

Publication Language

Full texts are published in English or Thai. Every article has its title, abstract, keywords and reference list in English.

Article Processing Charge

There is no submission or review fee. After acceptance, i-ME charges an article processing charge (APC) of 4,000 THB per article. Authors from low-income countries and students may request a full or partial waiver when submitting. Inability to pay never affects the editorial decision. Payment instructions are sent to the corresponding author through the journal system after acceptance.

All articles are freely available immediately on publication under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
