History of Insights into Modern Education (i-ME)
ISSN: 3057-0050 (Online)

Insights into Modern Education (i-ME) was established in 2022 at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Khon Kaen Campus. The journal originated from the doctoral-level course English for Teaching Social Studies in the Ph.D. in Social Studies program, where students were required to engage in critical reading of international research and produce academic papers in English. In response to the increasing quality of scholarly writing and the need for a formal platform for dissemination, an in-class journal was developed under the title Insights into Modern Education. The initiative was designed to cultivate research competence, promote academic writing in English, and strengthen scholarly communication in the field of education.

In 2023, the journal published its first printed volume, marking its transition from a classroom-based academic initiative to a structured publication platform. This inaugural issue reflected a collective commitment among faculty members and doctoral students to uphold academic standards and establish a sustainable forum for educational research. The publication demonstrated the journal’s potential to serve as a professional channel for emerging and established scholars alike.

The year 2024 represented a pivotal stage in the journal’s institutional development. The journal was officially registered with ISSN 3057-0050 (Online), and articles were subsequently published in digital format to enhance accessibility and international visibility. During its early phase, the peer review process was conducted manually, with editorial coordination and reviewer communication managed through direct correspondence. In the later issues of 2025, the journal adopted the Thai Journal Online (ThaiJO) system to improve administrative efficiency, transparency, and compliance with national academic publishing standards. The implementation of the online system significantly strengthened editorial workflow and documentation processes.

In the same year, the journal was accepted under the administration and academic support of Watsuthiwararam, under the leadership of Phrasuthiratanabundit (Suthit Apakaro, Assoc. Prof. Dr.), Abbot of Watsuthiwararam. Furthermore, international academic collaboration was initiated through a scholarly visit to Won Buddhism Headquarters and Wonkwang University. During this visit, consultations were held with Jang Jin Young of the Institute of Mind Humanities regarding strategies for enhancing journal quality, strengthening peer review standards, and aligning editorial practices with international benchmarks.

By 2025, Insights into Modern Education had expanded its academic network through the continued support of alumni from the Ph.D. in Social Studies program and broader scholarly partnerships. The journal successfully published its 2025 issues in accordance with its triannual schedule (January–April, May–August, and September–December). Operating under a rigorous double-blind peer review system and maintaining a no-publication-fee policy, the journal remains committed to advancing high-quality educational research and fostering international academic engagement.
