She taught at Springfield College and Holyoke Community College for over 40 years. She supported Florida Gulf Coast University for health care and human service professionals in the local community. In honor of her contributions, the university was home to the Elaine Nicpon Marieb College of Health and Human Services. Her legacy of contributing to science education lives on through the Elaine Nicpon Marieb Foundation. She passed away in 2018 at the age of 82.
