Abstract

This research aimed to study the development of skills in using Microsoft Excel program of Mathayom 4 students by using teaching that emphasizes on actual training through the use of the program. The research method used was an experimental research by dividing students into an experimental group and a control group. The sample group in the research consisted of 20 students, randomly selected from Mathayom 4 students of Pak Phli Witthayakhan School.

The research instruments consisted of three teaching plans, a pre- and post-test,
and a questionnaire on satisfaction with teaching. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test to find the difference between the pre- and post-test scores of the experimental group.

The results of the research found that the experimental group of students who studied with the actual practice method had significantly higher scores after learning than before learning (t = 16.60, p < 0.05), which showed that using the actual program in learning helped develop students' skills in using Microsoft Excel effectively. In addition, students had a high level of satisfaction with the teaching and learning, with an average satisfaction score of 4.70.

From this research, it can be concluded that teaching that emphasizes practical training can help develop Microsoft Excel skills well and should be applied in subjects related to technology use in the future.
