Responsibilities of Editors

  1. The editors decide on the quality of articles submitted for publication. The editor's decision must not be influenced by the country of origin, gender, sexual orientation, political beliefs, or religion. Decisions should be made based solely on the academic quality and content of the articles.
  2. The editors select reviewers with academic expertise that aligns with the article and make a decision after the review process is completed.
  3. The editors evaluate the qualifications of the article, and the article must not contain any personal business interests.
  4. The editors must not disclose information about the reviewers and authors.
  5. The editors do not disclose information in the manuscript before publication.
  6. The editors can withdraw an article if the published article is a duplicate submission, data falsification, or if the article has plagiarism from other works.
  7. Information or comments from reviewers must be kept confidential and should not be used for personal gain.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  1. Reviewers must immediately inform the editor if there is a conflict of interest with the manuscript and decline to review it.
  2. Reviewers will provide detailed, constructive, and unbiased evaluations within the specified timeframe regarding the content of the work and should maintain the confidentiality of the review process.
  3. Reviewers should provide comments and opinions based solely on their expertise and should have no conflicts of interest. If the manuscript is outside the reviewers' area of expertise, they should decline to review it.
  4. Reviewers must not disclose any information or results from the manuscript before it is published.
  5. Reviewers should inform the editor if they suspect that the manuscript contains work that is duplicated from another published article.
  6. Reviewers should identify significant published work that is relevant if the author has not cited it.

Responsibilities of Authors

  1. Authors should ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism and has not been published elsewhere.
  2. Submitting a manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is considered unethical and unacceptable. However, if a manuscript is rejected by SIAM, the authors may submit it to other journals.
  3. All financial support for the research and writing process should be disclosed in the acknowledgments, and any conflicts of interest should be clearly stated.
  4. All authors are responsible for errors, disputes, and any instances of plagiarism.
  5. The corresponding author is responsible for responding to comments and suggestions from reviewers. If the authors disagree with any comments from the reviewers, they should provide a clear explanation.
  6. Each person listed as an author should have made a sufficient contribution to the work, be responsible for the submitted manuscript, and agree to take responsibility for all aspects related to the accuracy or integrity of the manuscript.
  7. For research built upon previously published work, authors should reference and cite these published works in the document and list them in the references. Stating facts or ideas without providing evidence to support these claims is considered poor research practice.
