Analysis of Tujia Xilankapu Patterns and Their Application in Cultural and Creative Designs

Abstract

Abstract:In order to broaden the way of displaying the traditional patterns of Xilankapu and make it adapt to the trend of mass consumption in modern society. The article adopts literature research method and case analysis method to interpret the meaning of the traditional patterns of Xilankapu, and utilizes two-dimensional and three-dimensional design software and other auxiliary tools to redesign the traditional patterns, aiming at the organic combination of theoretical analysis and practical activities. Through the combing of the historical origin of Xilankapu traditional patterns, the analysis of pattern shape and color matching, we explored the profound national cultural connotation behind the creation of Xilankapu patterns and its important role in the history of the Tujia ethnic group, such as “word dissemination” and emotional expression. Xilankapu is regarded as a vivid imprint of the long culture of the Tujia people and carries the essence of the colorful folklore of the Tujia people, therefore, it is of practical significance to explore the recreation of Xilankapu patterns. Combining the traditional Xilankapu patterns with cultural creative products, the traditional “old man” of Xilankapu can keep pace with the social process.
