Abstract

This study explores the application of the Four Iddhipāda Dhamma - desire (Chanda), effort (Viriya), thoughtfulness (Citta), and investigation (Vīmaṁsā) - in online learning management among social studies teachers within Thailand's Secondary Educational Service Area Office 24. By examining how these Buddhist principles are integrated into teaching practices, the study aims to assess their impact on online learning effectiveness and identify challenges faced by educators. Findings reveal that while the application of these principles varied, the principles of Vīmaṁsā (investigation) and Viriya (effort) were particularly effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking and perseverance. However, challenges such as technological limitations, student distractions, and time constraints hindered the full application of these principles. The study concludes that integrating the Four Iddhipāda Dhamma into online learning can significantly enhance educational outcomes, but further support and training are needed to overcome existing challenges.
