This paper examines the influence of social movements on Thailand’s political landscape, tracing their historical significance from early movements to contemporary digital activism. Social movements such as the Yellow Shirts, Red Shirts, and student-led pro-democracy protests have been pivotal in challenging authoritarian regimes and pushing for democratic reforms. The rise of digital platforms has transformed how these movements organize and mobilize, allowing them to reach wider audiences and sustain momentum despite government repression. However, challenges such as internal fragmentation, legal restrictions, and military intervention have often impeded their effectiveness. This study highlights the potential of social movements to shape future political reforms in Thailand, particularly through the engagement of youth activists and global support.
